Gunmen have attacked a prison in southwest Nigeria, freeing dozens of inmates.
According to a spokesperson of the Oyo correctional center in Oyo state, the gunmen attacked the facility late Friday night and an investigation into the incident has begun.
This is the third jailbreak in Nigeria this year, with more than 2,000 inmates freed in two major jailbreaks.
On September 13, 240 inmates were freed after gunmen attacked a prison in north-central Kogi state, and 1,800 inmates escaped on April 5 following an explosion at a facility in southeast Imo state.
Authorities have managed to rearrest some escaped inmates, while others have returned willingly.
