How Your Favorite Artists Celebrated Their VGMA Wins

The celebration of Ghana Music took place on Saturday, May 6 at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Center, and it was a lively event.

Fans of music from Ghana and other parts of the world were present to witness the recognition of their favorite artists for their outstanding efforts throughout the year.

The ceremony had several unexpected moments, including the triumph of some newcomers who received their first VGMAs.

King Promise, who had been nominated multiple times in previous award ceremonies, won two awards to the delight of his fans and gave a superb performance during the event.

In a post celebrating his win, he wrote;

“ALBUM OF THE YEAR ..AFROBEATS/AFROPOP ARTIST OF THE YEAR @ghmusicawards . Big thanks to the best fans in the world cos y’all make all the hard work & sleepless nights worth it and i won’t trade that for nothing . Love y’all 💚

Black Sherif achieved a historic milestone by becoming the youngest artist to win the prestigious "Artist of the Year" award.

He accomplished this feat after giving a remarkable performance, and he also received four other awards, making him the most decorated artist of the night.

Celebrating his win via an Instagram post, Black Sherif wrote;

“2023 & BEYOND. GOD BLESS YOU & ME. THANK YOU! I LOVE YOU! I’M GRATEFUL.

RBA TILL THEY CUT MY THROAT.”

Camidoh had a successful year in 2022, which is why it came as no surprise that he won two major awards for his song "Sugarcane."

“God’s Plan,” he celebrated his win on Instagram.

Although the Gospel community strongly supported Piesie Esther and hoped she would win the top prize of Artist of the Year, she was ultimately defeated by Black Sherif.

Nevertheless, she was able to take home two awards during the event, despite not receiving the highest honor.

Celebrating her win on Instagram, she wrote;

“Waye me yie ampa! I dedicate these awards firstly to God, my dear husband (God of Enoch ), my family, The Church Of Pentecost, @thecophqofficial the entire Christian Community in Ghana, my team at Gospel 360 africa, The table of Men, the Media, Bloggers and to everyone who has been a part of the growth of my ministry. God Bless You.”
