Ghanaian musician and performer Denning Edem Hotor, better known by his stage as Edem, has expressed his anger with the Ghana Music Rights Organization (GHAMRO).
The Ghana Musicians Royalty Organization (GHAMRO) is the most inefficient government agency in Ghana, says the composer of the famous song “You Dey Craze.”
This follows GHAMRO’s end-of-year payout of royalties to its registered members, in which some artists received as little as GH153.27.
Edem took to social media to air his grievances, stating, “No entity for Artiste in Ghana be worthless pass “GHAMRO” on my Mama..on GOD.”
Meanwhile, GHAMRO Board Chairman Rex Omar recently responded to his detractors, who have long accused him of slashing artists’ pay at the organization.
