20 Years Of Doing Music In Ghana No Royalty, How Can You Survive? Kwaw Kesse Laments

Rapper Kwaw Kesse named Emmanuel Kofi Botwe at birth has complained bitterly about the poor royalty system in Ghana.

Abodam as he is affectionately called narrates how after 20 years of his music career, he is yet to receive any royalty for his work.

According to him, in Ghana, you would have to pay DJs, TV stations, Bloggers and the Press to market your Music.

He questioned how an Artiste can survive by funding all those payments by himself without profit at the end of the day.

However, Owusu Crossland in reaction to his post said no one cared when Shatta Wale kept talking about putting systems in place.

Keenyice also said the Ghana Music Industry is almost upside down. He believes Ghanaian Artistes are working hard in the wrong country.

Kwaw Kesse made this submission on Twitter.
