H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the president of the Republic of Ghana has stated that he is never intimidated when some Ghanaians threaten to vote for the opposition National Democratic Congress(NDC) in the 2024 general elections.
Speaking in an interview on Otec FM where he was being asked about the threats made by some Ghanaians to vote against his administration and the New Patriotic Party(NPP) in the upcoming general election, he stated that he is not frightened.
The President stated that he understands that Ghanaians threw their weights behind him simply because they wanted him to do something in return that would cushion their lives, but he is not frightened by the threats to vote against his party in 2024.
“People make those kind of threats , me they don’t frighten me. Somebody votes for you, somebody supports you is because they want you to do something for them and I understand but there is no need for them to threaten me”, he said.
He stated that even though he plans on accomplishing most of the promises he made and also addressing the issues most Ghanaians have been lamenting about, should they decide to vote for the NDC in the upcoming election, it is none of his business but theirs.
He further stated that the most important thing is the responsibility he plans to accomplish for Ghanaians.
