BREAKING: Ghana Goes To The IMF For Balance Of Payment Support [Details]

The president of Ghana, Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo-Addo has instructed the finance minister, Ken Ofori Atta to commence formal engagements with the International Monetary Funds.

The International Monetary Fund is an international financial institution, headquartered in Washington, D.C., and consists of 190 countries.

The IMF works to achieve sustainable growth and prosperity for all of its 190 member countries. It does so by supporting economic policies that promote financial stability and monetary cooperation, which are essential to increase productivity, job creation, and economic well-being.

Before the implementation of the Electronic Levy, the president assured citizens that the acceptance of the levy will prevent Ghana from seeking monetary help from IMF but it appears the finance minister and the president have fallen on their own sword.

However, on Friday, July 1st, the Ministry of Information announced in a statement that the President has instructed the finance minister, Ken Ofori Atta to start formal engagements with IMF to support an economic program put together by the government.
